Babyy survives, 4 die in crash
The dead: Her brother, parents and grandmother
A two-month-old girl miraculously escaped death but her parents, grandmother and brother, all from Singapore, were killed when the seven-seater vehicle they were in crashed into two trees along the North-South Expressway in Malaysia.
.According to The Star newspaper, the baby, Jolene Bong, was flung more than 10m but was unscathed.
.Her grandmother Pang Chee Seng, mother Kor Yee Lin, and brother Justin Bong, aged two, died on the spot.
.Her father, Bong Kwang Hong, who is 37, died at the Tangkak Hospital.
.The accident happened yesterday at about 7.30am.
.The Bong family were headed north from Singapore when their Mitsubishi Grandis skidded along the 150km-mark of the expressway.
.According to The New Straits Times, the vehicle somersaulted and slammed into the trees by the side of the highway.
.Mdm Kor and Jolene were found about 10m away. It is believed that the mother was holding the infant at the time of the crash.
.The baby and her seriously injured father were rushed to hospital but the latter died shortly after arrival.
.Muar police are investigating the accident and are appealing to any witnesses to come forward. — 938LIVE
